The advantages of Aluminum Systems

There are certainly several material choices for windows and doors. But where does aluminum excel? First of all, aluminum is a metal with excellent mechanical properties, which has revolutionized many technological fields. Although much lighter than other metals, it has very high mechanical strength and is therefore widely used in the very demanding aeronautics industry. It is also very resistant to many forms of corrosion and requires almost zero maintenance costs.
Furthermore, aluminum is the 3rd most common element in the earth's crust. It is a "green" material, which has the ability to be recycled forever, maintaining its characteristics, without any qualitative degradation. The energy required for its recycling is only 5% of that consumed for its initial production, making it one of the greenest materials in the construction industry. More specifically, the advantages that aluminum frames offer us are the following:

Mechanical properties

Aluminum frames offer doors and windows with high robustness and therefore increased safety and durability over time. Furthermore, in case of large temperature differences, they do not deform over time, a very important fact for areas with high sunshine and high temperatures in the summer. Therefore, they offer great dimensional accuracy, which remains unchanged and is not at risk from the effect of contraction and expansion. Thus, we achieve maximum tightness and perfect contact of the frame with the sash of the frame.
Also, the robustness of aluminum frames allows for the creation of large openings for maximum natural lighting, without the risk of the frames bending and warping, as often happens with other, weaker, materials. Even with very thin profiles, a double-leaf aluminum frame can "lift" over 1000 kg!
Finally, in the event of a fire, aluminum frames not only do not help the fire spread inside the house, but they limit it. Aluminum, unlike other materials, absorbs and removes a large part of the heat of the fire thanks to its high thermal conductivity and when it melts (melting point at 660°C) it slows down the fire, without creating flammable or toxic gases.

Safety

Aluminum frames, thanks to their durable and compact construction, offer a very high level of security and prevent violations by would-be burglars.
As they are particularly robust, they work effectively with a multitude of mechanisms & accessories that further enhance the level of security. All the systems we manufacture are certified for their burglary protection according to the internationally recognized standard "RC – Resistance Classification".

Design

The space we live in is essentially a part of ourselves, as we spend on average over 50% of our time in our homes. And if we think about it, a house's windows are a key part of its overall functional and aesthetic value, shaping its interior and exterior appearance.
Aluminum frames offer endless design options, both in typologies and dimensions (e.g. minimal design with very thin profiles, angular typologies, multi-leaf constructions), and in surface treatments, featuring a huge palette of colors and textures (e.g. metallic colors, glossy or matte, wood imitation), which will certainly cover every need and desire. It is a fact that no other material can offer such great design flexibility, without limitations!
Finally, aluminum systems are not limited to windows and doors, but allow for the creation of a multitude of architectural structures. From pergolas, railings and bellows to shade blinds and patios, as well as many other special structures. This means that if you visit an aluminum manufacturer, you will be able to get a comprehensive quote with all the solutions you may need.

Thermal insulation

It is often said that aluminum frames are inferior in thermal insulation or sound insulation, which is a… myth! Technological progress and continuous research have led to the creation of aluminum frames with very high insulation performance.
Aluminum frames, when reinforced with special insulating polyamides, can offer levels of thermal insulation suitable even for passive buildings with zero or almost zero energy consumption. Thus, in combination with high-energy-efficiency glazing, i.e. high-thermal insulation glazing, an aluminum frame "shields" your home against undesirable temperatures of the external environment, winter and summer. Furthermore, thanks to the use of advanced sealing rubbers, even cold northern winds are effectively dealt with, without the risk of your windows blowing in.
Finally, the very high reflectivity (albedo) of aluminum as a material "rejects" solar radiation and reduces the heat absorbed by the frames during periods of intense sunshine, contributing to maintaining the internal temperature in the summer. After all, this is why aluminum shading blinds are widely used in building shells.

Soundproofing

Sound insulation is one of the most important characteristics when choosing window frames, especially when it comes to homes located in urban environments with high noise pollution.
For this reason, checks and certifications are carried out regarding the degree of soundproofing offered by windows and doors. The quality rubber seals inside and around its systems, as well as the hermetic "sealing" of its frames when locked, without the existence of gaps through which sound can penetrate, offer very high levels of soundproofing.
Of course, as with thermal insulation, the most important factor in increasing sound reduction is the glazing that will be placed in the frame. For example, a triple-glazed window offers incomparably higher sound insulation compared to a simple single-glazed window.
