Anodizing is an electrochemical process for the passivation of aluminum. This process is difficult to compare with any other surface treatment, as during anodizing the aluminum plays an active role.

What is anodizing and why choose it?;

Anodizing is an electrochemical process for the passivation of aluminum. This process is difficult to compare with any other surface treatment, as during anodizing the aluminum plays an active role. In the framework of this process, a thin layer of aluminum oxidation is created that is fully integrated into the outer surface of the profiles, thus offering remarkable characteristics, such as:

  • Aesthetics: Unique aesthetics that highlight the metallic nature of aluminum
  • Color Stability: Long-term color retention, as anodized surfaces have excellent resistance to UV radiation and environmental conditions
  • Durability: at all stages of the profiles' life, during construction, installation and use.
    • Unique resistance to corrosion, making it the ideal choice for environments with difficult conditions, such as coastlines, environmentally burdened areas, etc.
    • Resistance to peeling, as the tint is integrated into the profile and is not simply a layer on its surface
    • Scratch resistance, as anodizing creates a ceramic coating on the surface of the profile
  • Ease of Maintenance: Due to the above characteristics that increase the durability of aluminum profiles, the maintenance required is minimal. A simple rinse with water or the use of a mild cleaner will bring the anodized surface to its original condition, while mild abrasive cleaners can be used in more demanding cases.
  • Health & Safety: An anodizing product is chemically stable, does not decompose, is non-toxic and completely recyclable.

Certified Quality

Anodizing is a process of strict precision and high standards. Consequently, the high level of quality of the final product and the services offered is not something that everyone can achieve.

Alumil, with whom we collaborate in all our anodizing, adopts and implements only the best available procedures and practices, in order to comply with applicable safety and environmental protection policies and to respect its customers and employees. In its modern facilities, all critical production data is recorded, monitored and archived on a 24-hour basis, while daily measurements and quality controls are also carried out in its fully equipped laboratory, in order to ensure a perfect result. Its state-of-the-art unit has 60 baths with a production capacity of up to 500 m2/h of clean anodized surface at 20μm.

Alumil is certified with Qualanod by the Hellenic Aluminum Association (H.E.A.) for the anodizing production process and with ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2008 regarding quality, environmental management and health and safety.

What options are there? Alumil Anodizing Color Guide

Alumil, aware of modern architectural trends, has created an unrivaled anodizing palette for interior and exterior architectural use. The twenty-seven (27) available shades are formed based on two options: 1) color and 2) texture.

  • Regarding color, Alumil offers two distinct palettes, classic and INOX, consisting of a total of nine (9) options:
Classic Palette: Natural, Light Bronze, Bronze, Brown, Black, Sandstorm.
    INOX pallet: Silver, Sand, Honey
The classic palette consists of the most popular colors on the market, while the INOX palette is Alumil's premium collection, offering the most elegant colors that highlight the quality and aesthetics of its systems.
    • In addition to the color collections, three (3) machining options are available that define the texture of the anodized profile. Sandblasting offers a smooth matte effect, while the two brushing options (soft or hard brush) highlight the linear nature of the aluminum profiles.
Anodized aluminum is a reflective surface, therefore the final color result may vary in different lighting conditions. Therefore, the digital representation of the anodized colors is indicative.
